Frequently asked questions
How long have you been in the woodworking & cabinetry business?
We have been locally owned and operated in Leduc, AB since 2003 and have been doing custom woodworking projects in Leduc, Edmonton and the surrounding area from then on!
What type of projects do you do?
Anything you can build out of wood! Interior projects could include (but are definitely not limited to) custom cabinetry, counter tops, stairs, trim, wainscoting, doors, or tables. Exterior projects include sheds, pergolas, decks, fences, or any other decorative landscaping touch.
How will you help me envision the final project before we get started?
Depending on your project, we will use a 3D rendering program to provide you a virtual walk-through. You will also have access to all of our samples of different materials, stains and woods to help you customize the details. This is all included in the free, no-obligation quote!
Will you keep the area tidy during construction?
Most custom woodworking will be done at our woodshop and brought to your site complete. If we have to do work on-site, we will ensure the construction area is contained to protect your home. The site will be left clean and tidy after each work day to keep the process enjoyable for you and your family.
Can I make a change after my project has started?
We understand that some afterthoughts may come up and we will do our best to accommodate them. Any changes after the initial agreement will be documented on a “Change Order” form and signed by MSL Projects & Design Inc. and yourself. You can expect exceptional communication throughout the process between yourself and our team!
Can I customize my epoxy or live edge table?
You are the designer when planning your custom table! Our carpenters and suppliers will help you select the perfect species of wood for your project. There are many options to match your desired color, grain, shape, and budget. If you select an epoxy table, you also get to choose the color and finish of the epoxy. Your table will be uniquely yours! Too many choices? Don’t worry. We will provide you guidance every step of the way.
Do you do everything in-house?
MSL has its own 30’ x 60’ woodshop, with an organized team of journeymen and apprentice carpenters that work efficiently together towards all tasks of the project. Anything is possible!
What type of insurance do you carry?
We carry $5,000,000 residential and commercial insurance liability, so there is no worry to you while we are working in and around your home. All of our staff and projects are covered under our WCB account, which is in great standing.
Can you provide references?
Absolutely! Before signing your agreement, references can be provided from previous clients and distributors. Our clients love becoming part of the MSL family! You can also visit the clients page for testimonials.
What is the payment schedule?
For tables, a 50% deposit is required at the beginning of the project and the other 50% upon completion. For custom cabinetry, or other custom wood projects, a 30% deposit is required after the agreement has been finalized. Another payment of 30% will be required when we reach the halfway mark. The final 40% of the payment upon completion.
